Ready, set, go! YMCA Children’s programs are drop-in program designed to give kids a chance to get active, meet new friends and learn some valuable skills such as teamwork and problem solving. By providing a safe and fun space for kids aged 6weeks -12 years to play, parents have the opportunity to participate in a fitness class, go for a swim or meet up with friends in the facility. 
Volunteers assist Child, Youth and Family staff with the delivery of the program by:

  • Ensuring proper check in/out procedures are followed
  • Attentive to the needs of the children (play, food, and bathroom)
  • Adhering to Child Protection Procedures
The Kids program at the Chilliwack YMCA runs on:
  • Monday - Saturday
  • 8:00-1:00pm
  • 5:30-8:00pm


  • Interest or experience working with preschool and school aged children
  • Working with minimal supervision
  • First Aid Certification
  • Ability to commit to a minimum of 2 shifts per week
  • Creative and innovative

Our Commitment to the Protection of Children and Vulnerable Adults

The YMCA is committed to the protection of children in our care and vulnerable adults participating in our programs.  To ensure this commitment is upheld, all volunteers will need to provide:
  • A current and satisfactory Criminal Reference Check/Vulnerable Sector Search issued to later than six (6) months preceding your start date
  • Three references (two of these should be professional references)
